Course content
Lectures and seminars: 1. Safety in leading a team in ski training, organizing winter training courses at primary and secondary schools. 2. Technique and methodology of the basic skiing stage - cross-country skiing with the classic technique and skating (concurrent one-time, one-time skating, alternating skating on a slight hill). 3. Technique and methodology of the stage of basic skiing - downhill and turning on skis (short sliding curve, arc in the plow in a dynamic design). 4. Didactic and methodical principles in teaching downhill skiing. 5. Didactic and methodical principles in teaching cross-country skiing. 6. Video analysis of movement during downhill and turning on skis. 7. Video analysis of the correct execution of movement when cross-country skiing. Practical excercises: 1. General ski training. 2. Specialized ski training. 3. Technique and methodology of the stage of basic skiing - cross-country skiing with the classic technique and skating (one-time concurrent running, one-time skating, alternating skating on a slight hill). 4. Technique and methodology of the stage of basic skiing - downhill and turning on skis (short sliding curve, arc in the plow in a dynamic design.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on deepening knowledge in the field of downhill technology resp. cross-country skiing with emphasis on didactics and methodology in general and specialized ski training. Furthermore, to deepen the skills of individual methods of cross-country skiing and individual curves during downhill and turning in the stage of basic skiing. Teaching is realized in the form of lectures, seminars and practical exercises. Students will deepen their knowledge of ski technology, ski service and technique of downhill and cross-country skiing. Based on the video recording, they will be able to identify driving errors of the monitored person in the video or. in real conditions and subsequently will be able to eliminate this error or. advise specific exercises leading to their improvement of skills. Students will also be able to safely lead a team and know the basic rules for organizing winter training courses at school.
After completing the course: - Orients in basic ski terminology, methodology of teaching skiing. - Can explain the system of a comprehensive concept of teaching the Czech School of Skiing. - Knows the basic rules of safety on ski slopes and follows them. - Able to define the basic principles of skiing technique - in running and downhill and turning on skis. - Able to analyze and describe the main errors of running and downhill skiing in videos recorded on video. - Knows exercises to eliminate the main mistakes in running and downhill and turning on skis. - Can use the acquired competencies for further possible expansion of knowledge and skills in the field.

Assessment methods and criteria

Completion of the course in full (100%). Practical demonstration of downhill and turning on skis - short skid arch, arch in the plow in a dynamic design. Practical demonstration in cross-country skiing - one-time concurrent running, one-time skating, alternating skating on a gentle hill. Didactic output on the assigned topic (slopes, cross-country skis) on the basis of submitted written preparation (approx. 30 min). Identification and possible elimination of errors based on video recording. Theory test
