Learning outcomes
|
The course is primarily based on an analysis of the concept of democracy, using an interactive approach to the problems of a democratic society, fundamental values and principles. In the course, students will acquire the knowledge how to work by way of model situations with a diversity of opinions, form and formulate their own attitudes. Students will develop their educational skills of future students when working with these issues of Education for Citizenship and Foundations of Humanities.
Students will acquire the following academic knowledge: - can describe basic concepts of a topic - can actively use appropriate academic terminology - can explain by an example and demonstrate the basic principles and values of a democratic society - can explain by an example, demonstrate the importance of contemporary democracies for individuals, society, world - can analyze and reflect presented pedagogical approaches to individual topics

Assessment methods and criteria

During the course, students will create a portfolio, which will be compiled of all written outcomes from individual lessons. Conditions for obtaining a credit: 1. Students will have a maximum of two excused absences. 2. Students will work out their tasks for students who were missing. 3. Students will work out an essay, present a topic and a portfolio kept during the seminars.
