Learning outcomes |
The course will get students acquainted with the main theoretical awareness of European integration. Simultaneously, the course will be focused on linking of theoretical awareness of integration process and factual governance and functioning of international institutions. Subsequently, some of current issues related to the future of the integration process, discussed in contemporary theory, will be discussed in depth. The issue of democratic legitimacy in the context of transnational governance will be thematized, as well as theoretical concepts of postnational order.
Students will acquire the following academic knowledge: - is able to work with the basic concepts of supranational governance - is able to understand the basic principles of supranational institutions and their reflections - is able to understand the differences in the functioning of democratic institutions in different contexts - gain general knowledge of the main existing theoretical approaches to transnational integration process |

To obtain an exam: students will defense their written work orally and answer the question in presented topics. Written work must have a minimum of 8 pages (15,000 characters, including spaces). It has to be based on the presented topics and at least on two texts (primary and secondary foreign language text). The topic will have to be approved by an examiner in advance. |
