Course content
The course covers three textbook chapters (3.-5., Aspekte C1). In connection with the discussed topics all language skills will be practiced. Basic topics: 1. Language, dialect, discussion, types of communication, new media 2. Economy, trade, enterprise, globalization 3. Goals, resolutions, social-political activity 4. Preparation for the exam

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to improve and develop the speaking skills, perfect the grammar skills, extend the vocabulary, practice independent speaking and writing and learn about the German speaking countries. This course is a follow-up to Language Skills I and it continues improving the language skills at the level B2/C1 of the CEFR.
Student " knows the vocabulary and grammar related to the discussed topics " can understand longer written and spoken texts at different stylistic levels " can write a structured text and express clearly own ideas and attitudes to serious social issues " can start, lead and end a discussion.
Prerequisites
Communicative Competence I Communicative Competence II The exam in Language Skills II can be taken only if the student has passed both credit tests in Language Skills I and Language Skills II.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit requirements: Active participation, students must complete required tasks, hand in two writings (essay - argumentative writing, academic text), contribute to a discussion, and lead a discussion. Exam requirements: The exam comprises both written and spoken part (listening, comprehensive reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, oral interaction skills).
