The course "Academic Writing - Theory and Practice" offers a general knowledge of some theoretical and practical aspects of academic writing. In using the current state of linguistic knowledge with regard to academic writing as a form of communication, we will pursue the distinctive features of academic writing in German. The course thus aims at understanding as well as practising of academic writing. The practical part of the course focuses on analyses of the texts by course participants themselves, on improving their expression capabilities, and on structuring their ideas.
The student - is familiar with current Czech-Saxonian debates - communicates in both written and spoken German (and Czech) with the debate participants - can research the given topics - can arrange, promote, and organize a public debate
