Learning outcomes
|
The history of Czech-German relations can be characterized from the perspective of communication codes (Czech and German), and their relationships. The seminar will focus on the interpretation of major milestones of Czech and German as languages that were being taught, as languages of instruction and as official languages from 1740 to 1945.
Students will understand the importance of language for society. Students will be able to perceive the history of Czech-German relations through the relationship of the Czech language and the German language. Students will gain a new view of the so-called Sudeten German question.

- orientation in the Czech history of the 18th - 20th centuries - interest in the so-called Sudeten question - ability to interpret historical texts - German language knowledge B2 at least
