4-day excursion to Austria focused on guided tours of selected monuments of Czech and Austrian history and culture 1. Tracing Adalbert Stifter in the Sumava Mountains I - Horni Plana 2. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is an intercultural, interdisciplinary and interactive way of learning about historical events. The course focuses on the victims of the National Socialist Dictatorship in the Mauthausen Concentration Camp and in Lidice, the impulse being the 70th anniversary of the Lidice-tragedy.
Students will broaden their knowledge of Czech history (the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) and they will find out more about the interconnections of Czech and Austrian history as well as of Czech and Austrian culture in the 19th and 20th centuries. Thanks to the excursions to important historical and cultural sites students will get a real insight into the discussed topics. In addition to this they will improve their language competence.
