Course content
Working with materials available online (news, articles, stories and fairy-tales, biographies, guides), recognising the specifics of electronic communication in a foreign language, using online references, creating simple interactive materials based on freeware engines (e.g. Half-Baked Potatoes). Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to develop basic computer skills vital for the English teachers, with the focus on electronic communication and Internet-based resources. Students learn how to search, evaluate, apply and modify the resources. The subject emphasises the Internet as a source of up-to-date information and authentic materials, which they shall analyse and modify according to their needs. The first period of this 2-semester course focuses mainly on the materials available online (news, articles, stories and fairy-tales, biographies, guides), the specifics of electronic communication in a foreign language, online references and the creation of simple interactive materials based on freeware engines (e.g. Half-Baked Potatoes).
The students will be able - to use and modify multimedia materials for teaching purposes - to search for and properly refer to a wide range of resources - to present individual creative projects - to work with various multimedia (image, audio, video) - to collaborate and cooperate within a group
