Course content
Topics of lectures: 1st consultation: Introduction. The disease and its causes. Death and postmortem changes. Regressive changes and metabolic changes. Inflammation. Progressive changes. Basics of oncopathology. 2nd consultation: Pathology and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine system. Rival. Seminar topics: 1st consultation: Pathology and pathophysiology of the peripheral and central nervous system. 2nd consultation: Pathology and pathophysiology of the musculoskeletal system Self-study: Blood and saline circulation disorders. Pathology and pathophysiology of the urinary tract and respiratory tract. Pathology and pathophysiology of the female and male genital system and breast. Pathology and pathophysiology of the skin. Pathology and pathophysiology of blood.

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical. After completing the course, students will gain an overview of the causes of diseases, regressive and metabolic changes and cancer diseases. Students will also get an overview of the methods of processing materials intended for histological examination, diagnostic methods used in routine practice, including special methods used in the field (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, molecular biological methods).
Expertise: The student should get an overview of the general pathology and pathology of basic organ systems. Professional skills: Students will master basic medical terminology and understand the application of pathology in practice, in science, research. Competences: The student has a basic overview of general pathology and pathology of basic organ systems.
