Course content |
A subject deals with means of road transport. A subject introduces students with fundamental requirements to road vehicles, and shortly with construction and theory. 1. Introduction to the road vehicles, fundamental requirements to road vehicles. 2. Wheels, tires (marking, profiles, abrasion), wheel suspension and support. 3. Vehicle suspension. 4. Vehicle driving, geometry of the steering and non steering wheel. 5. Break system, layout, and requirements. 6. Riding resistance, exterior forces and momentus acting on vehicle. Car stability. 7. Vehicle conception (traction layout, steering). 8. Engine, basic type of the automobile engines, engines layout, requirements, theoretical and real cycle.. 9. Clutch and transmission system of engine vehicle (number of transmission degree and its graduation. 10. Comfort and information systems of the vehicles. 11. Influence of the road transport on the environment, new direction in drive system (electro mobile, hydrogen driven, fuel cells, biofuels, and hybrid engine).

Students will acquire basic knowledge of the construction and function of individual parts of cars. He / she is able to apply knowledge independently in ideological and concrete processes of design, assessment of motor vehicles and their influence on the environment, optimization of their operation and their utility properties. |
