Learning outcomes
Characteristics and fundamental tasks: The subject deals with machine parts as components of general use in construction of different mechanisms that are mostly standardized. Referring to the complexity, these components range from simple items to rather complicated units. The aim of the subject is to provide the students with facts about the basic kinds of machine components in context to their standardization and manufacture, about their function and properties and about combining the simple parts into more complex units. As the manufacture should put reliable, durable and safe products on the market, the students must become able to evaluate their design with regard to the dimensions, strength and material and be acquainted with recent progress in this field. The students should also get skill in reading the drawings and producing the design documents assisted by computation.
