Goals: Learning outcomes of the course unit The goal of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of the function of combustion engines, construction of basic parts, groups and aggregates. The link between the requirements for the internal combustion engine and the characteristics of the engines in relation to the economy of operation and environmental protection.
After completing the course, students are familiar with the construction of piston combustion engines and their aggregates. The knowledge gained will enable them to assess the design of current piston engines, both in terms of proper use and in terms of operational reliability, economy of operation and environmental impact.
