Course content
1. Principles, type and conditions of the tests, measurement and data evaluation, data transfer, measurement error. 2. Measurement of weight vehicle properties, centre of gravity and momentum of inertia. 3. Measurement of basic performance properties (revolutions, velocity, acceleration, power, fuel consumption). 4. Vehicle test-room, driving simulator, climatic wind tunnel. 5. Vehicle test-room (large and small), design, utilization. Noise measurement (interior and exterior). 6. Breaking test, diagnostic of the breaking systems. 7. Suspension and dumper test, driving comfort, driving navigableness, control test. 8. Test and diagnostic of transmission system, clutch, tire diagnostic, tire balancing, and vehicle safety test. 9. Automobile diagnostic, basic measurement instruments for diagnostic, engine diagnostic. 10. Diagnostic of the ignition and injection system, measurement of the vehicle engine emission, measurement of the diesel engine smoke emission. 11. Diagnostic of the air condition, diagnostic lines, European On-Board Diagnostic EOBD

Learning outcomes
A subject introduces students with importance and principles of the motor vehicle tests. The students familiarize with types and conditions of the tests (a test of driving properties, a performance test, a breaking test, a measurement of an interior and exterior noise, a stability and driving test, a test of mechanism and parts, etc.). The subject also provides the introduction to methodology and data evaluation. An automobile diagnostic is presented too.
Students will acquire basic knowledge of the construction and function of individual parts of cars. He / she is able to apply knowledge independently in ideological and concrete processes of design, assessment of motor vehicles and their influence on the environment, optimization of their operation and their utility properties.
