Learning outcomes
The seminar (course) is designed as a preparatory course for the final state examination in German linguistics and has two main aims. The first aim is to develop the student´s abilities to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in the course of his study (including his/her bachelor degree) in language disciplines (phonetics and morphology, syntax, lexicology, phraseology, text linguistics and stylistics) at the practical level by applying the form of complex linguistic analysis text. The emphasis will be put on comparing the whole system as well as individual language phenomena of both the languages. The other aim of the course lies in systematic preparation for the themes of the final state examination. The students will present, by means of oral presentation or that of examination paper, the results of their self-study of the recommended secondary literature to the assigned themes. In the centre of their attention will be, in particular, interlingual and intercultural aspects of the given problems.
