Learning outcomes
Language Competence I is a course that continues to develop the language level achieved in language seminars OF the bachelor study programme, further extents the acquired language competence to the minimum level OF C1 or C1+ of the Common Reference Framework for Languages. By working with authentic and current professional texts the learner achieves a higher academic language level. As far as the themes of the texts are concerned, they deal with intercultural issues as reflection of the Germans living in Bohemia, those of the Czechs living in Germany. Mimics and gestures in intercultural communication, strangeness and otherness on the example of a literary text, the role of language in society, etc.
In the seminar all four competences of the learner are developed and subsequently examined in the following semester. Specifically, these are listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing and speaking. The seminar

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit Requirements: The learners´ active participation in classes, meeting all the assigned tasks, minimum 70% attendance and meeting all conditions of the credit test, are basic conditions for granting a credit.
