In this work, computational simulations for heat transport were performed by using the open-source software LIGGHTS involving 5000 spherical particles of diameter 4 mm in a vertical stirrer with angled blades. The aim of this work was to analyze the effect of the rotational speed of the agitator, the thermal conductivity of the material and the Young's modulus on the heat transport from the vessel walls to the granular material. The results have shown that except for the initial phase, heat transport in dynamic systems is more efficient than in static systems because convective flows provide higher temperature gradients between particles in contact. Besides secondary flows of the particles were found to be actively involved in thermal homogenization for both investigated stirrer rotational speeds. The results have also shown that the intensity of heat transport depends on both the thermal conductivity of the material and the choice of Young's modulus. Based on tests of the correction for artificially reduced Young's modulus, it has been found that the correction applied to the contact area during contact between two particles is suitable for multiple grain interactions in a static system.
