The objective of this bachelor thesis is to examine the language of the absurd in Samuel Beckett's plays, with focus on the linguistic structures of the dialogue, motivation for their choices and interpretation of the dramatic effect they create. The aim of the close analysis is to demonstrate that it is precisely Beckett's language, often seeming void of identifiable content, that creates the sense of the absurd, and herewith a fundamental and consequential statement about human existence in modernity, the thesis unveils how these elements shape the absurdist themes in his works.
