In the following thesis, distribution of selected tropical diseases and their vectors in Europe was evaluated, based on available sources. The thesis is focused on four tropical diseases (leishmaniasis, malaria, west-nile virus, usutu virus) and their vectors. Biology of each vector is studied as well as biology, pathology and clinical sypmtoms of diseases they cause. At last, the distribution of diseases and vectors in Europe is examined with the possible prediction of its development due to changing of worldwide conditions. Based on the gained information we predict spread of vectors and diseases they carry into Europe. Main reasons for this situation are rising average temperatures which affects development cycle of vectors and parasites and their active times during the year. Also the international trade together with worldwide movement of people can influence the spread of chosen vectors and diseases.
