Tato práce využila v odborné literatuře ověřeného dotazníkového šetření k hodnocení marketingových schopností a několika dalších měřítek výkonnosti firem, kterou lze aproximovat např. ukazateli tržeb, rentability a technické efektivnosti firem v odvětví, vypočtenou dle metody DEA.

The motivation for research into the marketing capabilities of companies was, on the one hand, the replication of a significant study by Weerawardena (2003) on Czech data and the acquisition of experience in the field of strategic management and marketing mix. This work is therefore based on marketing theories that, from the point of view of the literature, affect the performance of the company. The first is the Resource-Based View (RBV) and the second is the Dynamic Capabilities View (DCV). The diploma thesis aimed to verify and discuss these theories on a sample of companies in the retail sector (NACE 47 - Retail trade, except motor vehicles) in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. This work used a validated questionnaire survey in the literature to evaluate marketing capabilities and several other measures of business performance, which can be approximated by indicators of sales, profitability and technical efficiency of companies in the industry, calculated according to the DEA method. The relationships between the variables that arose from the questionnaire survey and company monitoring were verified using a stepwise regression of the efficiency score and the production function. The results of multiple (stepwise) regression showed that two marketing capabilities have a direct effect on the business performance. Those capabilities are market research and promotion, which can be identified as key resources within RBV theory. These marketing capabilities can be expected to have the greatest potential for profitability and a prerequisite for maintaining a lasting competitive advantage in the market. The importance of other marketing capabilities (overall success of marketing capabilities in the fight against competition and the age of companies) is rather a dynamic component that it is related to changes and reactions to the environment and interconnections with other processes in the company or their impact is more complicated. The results provide managers with an overview of the importance of individual marketing capabilities and a specific tool for comparison in the industry.
