This bachelor's thesis processes information about chamois population currently present in the Lusatian Mountains and National park České Švýcarsko through means of literary research. Furthermore, this thesis concerns with the wolf as a predator of the chamois. The thesis's main focus are aspects of ecology and ethology, as well as history of the chamois population in the chosen area. Concerning ecology, the issue of current distribution, habitats inhabited by chamois, the composition of its food and predators are discussed. In the ethology part, the topics of herd formation, choice of habitat and home range, daily activity, rut, competition and the influence of tourism on the chamois are discussed. The research part of the thesis is focused on verifying the influence of wolves on the chamois population in Lusatian Mountains and the National park České Švýcarsko through statistical surveys. The binding of local chamois population to the rocky and less accessible areas was studied through statistical investigation as well. In the research part of the thesis, the author also focuses on determination of the defecation doses of chamois that could be used in further possible research. The discussion of the thesis is mainly devoted to comparing the knowledge and experience gained during field research with the literary research used as source for this thesis, evaluation of future development of chamois population under predatory pressure of the wolf, and suggestions for future possible research based on presented findings.

Dále ověří a prodiskutuje možnou metodiku sledování této populace a možnosti a směry dalšího výzkumu.
