Course content
1. Forming tools, characteristic, their dividing, introduction to their construction, tools for flat forming - input data, material influences, construction influences, technological influences. 2. Tools for flat forming - accuracy of manufacture, building elements of tools, normals, safety standards for construction. 3. Tools for volume forming - input data, material influences, construction influences. 4. Tools for volume forming - technological influences, accuracy of manufacture, building elements of tools. 5. Cutting tools - fundamentals of construction, choosing of sharp material and body material. 6. Cutting tools - elementary dividing, geometrical parameters of tool sharp, fundalemtal methods for definition of tool initialization surface. 7. Cutting tools - calculation of tooth space, definition of tool external diameter, tool solution from aspect of consistency and implasticity. 8. Fixtures - principles of construction, materials, computes of locating and bearing elements. 9. Fixtures - clamps, cutting and clamping forces. 10. Fixtures - mechanical clamping (screw and nut, eccentric, cam, tapered and linkage mechanism, springs etc.).

Learning outcomes
The course introduces the basic principles and methods of design, use and construction of jigs and forming and machining tools. It introduces procedures, calculations and possibilities of their construction. Course contents: 1. Preparations - basic concepts, meaning, classification of preparations. 2. Principles of jig design, procedure in jig design, basic calculations. 3. Construction elements of preparations. 4. Types and uses of preparations. 5. Forming tools, characteristics, their division, introduction to the design of forming tools, tools for sheet metal forming - input data, material effects, design effects, technological effects. 6. Tools for surface forming, production accuracy, construction elements of tools, production accuracy, construction elements of tools, standardized parts, safety regulations for construction. 7. Tools for volume forming, input data, material effects, design effects, production accuracy, building elements 8. Cutting tools - basics of construction, choice of material of the cutting edge and tool body, basic division, geometric parameters of the cutting edge of the tool, basic methods of determining the initial surface of the tool. 9. Cutting tools - calculation of tooth gap, determination of outer diameter of tool, solution of tools in terms of strength and stiffness.
