The most frequently processed material in mechanical engineering is metals and their alloys, therefore it is necessary to know their material, mechanical, physical and technological properties. The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the properties of metallic materials, as well as the influence of thermal, chemical-thermal and thermomechanical processing on these properties.
Students will get basic knowledge of the structure, properties and thermal and chemical-heat treatment of alloys based on iron and will focus on this issue. Will acquire practical experience with the evaluation of mechanical properties using appropriate standards and measuring equipment.
