Spectrometric and chemical analyzes of metals are used to determine and confirm the type of material, which is either prescribed for a specific structural or technological solution, both during the production of new equipment and in the event of malfunctions of equipment - material. The subject of spectrometric and chemical analysis of metals is focused on analytical methods of analysis of the chemical composition of various metal materials, which serve together with mechanical tests and metallographic evaluation for a comprehensive assessment of the metal material.

Prerequisites
1. Characteristics of metals from the point of view of atomic theory. 2. Structure of atomic complexes ? basics of crystallography and arrangement in crystal structures. 3. Division of metallic materials, basic properties. 4. Electromagnetic radiation and the electromagnetic spectrum. 5. Preparation of samples for spectrometric and chemical analyzes of metals. 6. Methods of spectrometric and chemical analysis of metals. 7. Chemical analysis in electron microscopy (EDS, WDS). 8. Determination of the chemical composition of materials based on Fe, Al and Cu, Ti, Mg using spectral analysis based on optical emission spectrometry (OES). 9. Analyzes of the volume composition of metallic materials, analysis of concentration profiles in the surface and subsurface layers of materials (GD-OES). 10. X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence (XRF). 11. X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence (XRF), non-destructive analysis of the chemical composition of materials using a hand-held X-ray spectrometer. 12. Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS, AES). 13. Application of spectral and chemical analyzes of metals ? examples and practical use
