Course content
1. Classification of degradation processes 2. Permanent deformation of materials, 3. Fractures of materials: theoretical strength, the influence of defects, etc. 4. Fatigue: fatigue, static and dynamic fatigue 5. Creep 6. Materials wear: abrasion, adhesion, erosion, cavitation 7. Degradation of sudden changes of temperature, chemical decomposition at elevated temperatures. 8. Radiation degradation: degradation of polymers by UV radiation, radiation damage 9. Materials resistant to certain types of degradation
