Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the basic properties and application of metallic and non-metallic materials in energy. The course contains information about the basics of crystallography, the properties of materials that are required either in technological processes or condition the function of the final use of the material in energy, as well as the influence of these properties by thermal and mechanical processing processes.
Students will gain basic knowledge about the structure, properties, methods of thermal and chemical-thermal processing of materials used in energy and will be familiar with this issue. They will gain practical experience in evaluating the mechanical properties of materials using appropriate standards and measuring equipment.
