The aim of the course is to give a basic overview of the nature (classification) of production engineering technologies. First, foundry and forming technologies are introduced as the most important and widespread methods of processing metals and their alloys. Furthermore, students are introduced to the basics of welding / soldering, followed by an introduction to machining (chipless and chipless). Part of the course is also a description of the advantages and disadvantages of individual technologies, including their assessment in terms of ecological and economic, with emphasis on differences for different groups of materials. Finally, a brief overview of the basic methods of protection of metal surfaces against corrosion.
