Learning outcomes
Aims: The course builds on Introduction to Engineering and Introduction to Design. It develops the knowledge communicated in these subjects and adds information on the design and calculation of machine parts and joints.
Students will extend their knowledge of designing machine parts with additional details (eg drives, gears, joints and their calculation and use, stress). The student is able to independently process the technical documentation of a given (proposed) part or assembly. They will be able to assess the suitability of using a joint, use normalization methods.
