Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the sensing of non-electrical quantities, the measurement and processing of signals and their use in technical diagnostics and when testing machines. As part of diagnostics, students will learn about methods of identifying the location, extent and causes of malfunctions and the consequences of diagnostics for further economical, safe and reliable operation. As part of machine testing, the student is introduced to methods of measuring the basic operating parameters of machines, such as (power, torque, revolutions, specific fuel consumption, emissions, noise, temperature, pressure, etc.) and other methods such as oil analysis, vibrodiagnostics, ultrasound, and thermodiagnostics)
The student is able to describe selected methods and procedures of technical diagnostics. The student can use selected methods and procedures of technical diagnostics in basic application areas. The student can use the technical-economic point of view when determining the optimal diagnostic interval and when determining the optimal moment for repair, maintenance, diagnostics etc. The student understands the basic techniques of testing machines and is able to use equipment for measuring the operating parameters of machines as well as means of tribotechnical, thermo, vibro and ultrasonic diagnostics and, based on this, establish a diagnosis and prognosis of the technical condition of the diagnosed system.
