Course content
1.The human being and the environment, ontogenetic evolution, the metamorphosis of substances and energy in the human ecosystem, the dynamic balance, homeostasis, the human communication with the environment, autoregulation, the genetic predisposition, adaptability, the symbolic activity. 2.The atmosphere, its importance, the barometrical pressure, the hydrothermal complex, the atmospheric composition, human dependence on oxygen and other atmospheric components, air pollutants' impact on human beings. 3.The actinic complex, the types of radiation, its importance for human beings, the light perception, the UV radiation impact, the atmospheric ionizing, the radioactive radiation, bioclimatology. 4.The lithosphere. The human dependence on the lithospheric composition, macro and microelements, the distribution of elements in the human body, the relationship between water and soil, the health hazards of the soil components. 5.The hydrosphere. The importance of water for human beings, the types of waters according to their utility, the indicators of drinking water quality, the health hazards of water. 6.Noise and vibrations. The receptors of perception, types of noise, its sources, physical and mental impact. 7.The construction of work places. The impact of constructing materials on "indoor" environment; temperature, ventilation and light factors. Health hazards of housing. 8.Nourishment. Energetic and biologic value of food, the dependance of human beings on the intake of the basic nutrients, their composition and metabolism. 9.Vitamins and minerals in food, their importance and substitutability. Bottled water. Contaminating substances in the food web. 10.The human being and his/her microworld. Microorganisms in the human body. Pathogenic microbes. Human immunity, its types and forms. 11.Epidemiology of diseases, natural and social conditions. The most frequent aerial-borne, insect-borne, intestinal, childern's diseases. 12.The human population, demographic characteristics, the population explosion, the concentration of inhabitants, social adaptation, stress, pathological phenomena, the population development in the CR.
