Course content
1. The basic concept and definition of soil, soil genesis, human as a soil forming factor. 2. Soil functions, evaluation of quality and hygiene of soils. 3. Influence of soil quality by human impacts, historical periods, and population explosion. 4. Intensified agriculture, positive and negative impacts on soil quality. 5. Characteristics of crucial anthropogenic influences on soil, soil anthropization and its features. 6. Global and regional degradation of soils. 7. Deterioration of soil physical properties (erosion, compaction, structure, water-air regime) 8. Deterioration of soil chemical properties (acidification, alkalization, eutrophization, intoxication). 9. Deterioration of soil physical properties (soil organic matter decline, accelerated mineralization, infection) 10. Soil anthropization demonstration in the forest soils. 11. Definition and characteristics of urban soils, functions, vertical and spatial variability. 12. Soil survey and diagnostics of anthropogenic soils over the world, classification of the anthropogenic soils in the Czech Republic. 13. Construction of reclaimed soils, landscape rehabilitation and revitalization, anthropogenic forms of relief. 14. International conventions, and principles of soil protection and use, legislation in the Czech Republic.
