1. Specifics of sound and its modification. 2. The use of sound in art and applied art. 3. Sound formats and compression methods, recording technologies. 4. Types of sound recordings. 5. Overview of available SW and HW, their basic features and functions, advantages and disadvantages. 6. Practice with studio equipment. 7. Practice in sound editing software. 8. Use of different methods of presenting a sound work.

Learning outcomes |
The student will learn the basics of working with sound and the fundamentals of working with studio equipment and sound editing software. The course introduces the student to important chapters in the history and present of sound art, sonic ecology and sound in applied art. The student seeks new potential starting points for his/her own creation and implementation within the educational process. Emphasis is placed on the ability to think and create with sound and to seek the most appropriate realization to express one's concepts of creation. Through a specific case study (semestral work), the student is practically introduced to the process of working with sound, from the selection and use of appropriate techniques to post-production editing and the most appropriate presentation option for the final piece.
Basic orientation in sound art and practical application of acquired experience in audio and audiovisual production. |
