Course content
1. Letterpress printing and type foundry. 2. Changes in typographical art over time. Visit to a book printing workshop. 3. Graphic etudes and experimentations in techniques: dry-point, line etching, soft-ground etching, aquatint, and mezzotint. 4.-5. Practical project: Impression created by gravure printing technique. 6. Expressional possibilities and specifics of lithography and serigraphy graphic techniques. 7. Transformation of printing technologies - from lithography to offset and screen printing. 8. Practical project: Visit to a screen-printing workshop; Realization in screen printing technique in the form of a joint workshop. 9. Popular culture in the context of graphic media. 10. Graphic etudes and experimentations in techniques of lithography and screen printing. 11. Impression created by lithography and serigraphy technique.

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students with the issues of modern graphics, while developing knowledge of the expressive possibilities and specifics of graphic techniques of letterpress, intaglio, and planographic printing. It acquaints students, both practically and theoretically, with expressional means of basic graphic techniques.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
