Course content
1. Basic parameters (bitmap and vector images, size, resolution, color spaces, formats, etc.). 2. Basic procedures and processes in working with electronic images, introduction of software used in working with 2D graphics and computer typography, setting profiles and environments, etc. 3. Vector graphics and its processing - Adobe Illustrator, introduction of environment and tools. 4. Adobe Illustrator practical exercises - creating vectors and working with them. 5. Adobe Illustrator practical exercise - working with vector objects. 6. Adobe Illustrator practical exercise - individual assignment. 7. Adobe Illustrator practical exercise - individual assignment. 8. Adobe Illustrator practical exercise - individual assignment - submission of output. 9. Bitmap graphics, its processing - Adobe Photoshop, environment and tools, creating and handling documents. 10. Adobe Photoshop practical exercise - creating selections and basic image editing. 11. Adobe Photoshop practical exercises - assembly, retouching, editing and further processing of bitmap images. 12. Adobe Photoshop practical exercise - non-destructive image editing (working with layers, adjustment layers, intelligent objects, etc.) 13. Adobe Photoshop practical exercises - working with masks, editing digital images, printing and exporting from the program.

Learning outcomes
The course is intended for students of the first year of specialization Graphic Design. It focuses on anchoring their knowledge and ensuring basic literacy and practical skills in working with electronic images, typography and documents in 2D space. The course combines lectures and practical exercises. The aim of the lectures is to acquaint students with terminology, with the basic parameters of vector and bitmap images, working tools (software), as well as with the procedures for creating, processing electronic and printed outputs. In practical exercises, attention is paid to the entire creation process from design, through the selection of optimal tools, through the work process to the final export in relation to the determination of the document. Teaching takes place in basic 2D graphics programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, the management of fonts, images and Acrobat is mentioned in passing.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
