Learning outcomes
The content of studies in the Studio of visual design is discovering and refining the ability to communicate on the professional level, not only by means of graphic sense, but also by forms, which are primarily non-graphic, e.g. by digital media, verbal and artistic means, or by nonstandard communication media The subject is compulsory. Every year it is finished by a credit and an exam in the form of final work. With its concept, the studio is based on creative abilities of graduates from secondary and specialized artistic schools. The talent of applicants for study is a crucial factor in the admission procedure. General course of the studies: Getting acquainted with creative techniques > making clear about student's own creative possibilities > work on themes developing metaphoric thinking > work on independent and team assignments > work on authorial projects > managing communication conception of multimedia character > diploma work.
After completing the final work for the second semester of the Master's programme of study in the Visual Design studio, the student is able to defend their work, to describe reasons for their solutions and the choice of form. They can work with graphic programs professionally and have a notion of professional software available on the market. They are able to formulate reasons and strategy of using individual graphic elements, methods for their use, their colour scheme, etc. The student can make up, realize, and defend the form of all parts of their own projects, they can explain principles of the solution, and they can design and realize their own installation and presentation of their work. They can write a defence text and by means of an audiovisual presentation, they are able to convince the client of the quality of their work. The student can write a strategic consideration to be applied in the solution of their project. They are able to realize the diploma thesis and understand how important it is.
