Learning outcomes
The basis of the studies in the atelier is the acquiring of natural principles and from that emerging exploration and creation experiences with a wide range of different materials used for artistic expression. Part of the course is to acquire the necessary technological and craft principles and their shift to the art field, then combining the acquired experience with classical disciplines concerned on shape, colour and space together with time, sound, light in the conceptual framework. With the acquired craft skills, students during their work finding own approaches and possibilities of realization intervening in the field of free and applied art and design. Searching for and mastering craftsmanship requires an active and creative student participation who by this way is acquainted both with design issues and real creative possibilities. The material, technological and content diversity of the atelier, as well as the width of the approaches, are based on this. Atelier is focused on the education of artistic personalities capable of solving problems, with the degree of sense and understanding of material and space as of various and often new technologies. The aim of the study is a versatile artist who is skilled in craft and is able to move in the field between art and applied art. An integral part of the study is also cooperation with the regional museum in nature, the revival of forgotten crafts and their contemporary artistic use and knowledge of working procedures in the respective institutions, workshops and facilities.
The student can utilize their previous studies and knowledge and skills to determine their own priorities and tendencies in the creative approach and creation. They can use the current technological possibilities in material processing and develop groundwork for them. The student is able to choose and study individual technologies necessary to solve their projects, and can take into consideration their use. The can work with 2D and 3D software (AutoCAD, Rhinoceros).
