Course content
Teaching content topics: - Introduction to the subject, credit requirements, study literature, assignment of topics for pedagogical outputs. - Principles of safety and hygiene, the impact of the aquatic environment on the human body. - The importance of swimming in human life, an overview of the development of swimming didactics. - General aspects of swimming lessons, stages of teaching, goals of individual stages. - Organizational forms, procedures, methods of swimming didactics. - Preparatory swimming lessons - phases and content of lessons. Basic swimming skills. - Methodology of basic swimming training. - Organization and safety of swimming lessons, help and rescue. - Swimming games - meaning and use, aids. - Specifics of training jumps and falls into water. - Didactics of crawl swimming. - Didactics of swimming method emblem. - Didactics of breaststroke. - Evaluation of teaching and saved work.

Learning outcomes
Students will acquire specific knowledge and skills to organise and safely conduct swimming instruction, assist and rescue in the water. This includes special diagnostics for swimming teachers, methodological procedures according to the morphological, physiological psychological and social assumptions of pupils, and the occurrence of typical, substantial, etc. errors. Written preparation is required for pedagogical outputs on a predetermined topic, highlighting the methodological conduct of the exercise, the analysis of errors and the correct methodology to address them. In the framework of cooperation with primary schools in Ústí n.L. and in the framework of deepening the teaching experience of university studies, teaching can also be practised with groups of children.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills: The student is after completing the course - is able to organize and safely lead swimming lessons at primary schools, - demonstrates theoretical and practical orientation in general aspects of swimming lessons, - understands the specifics of training and technique of swimming methods, - is able to practically use knowledge in rescuing a drowning person, - can define key points in individual swimming cycles, - is able to use the acquired competencies for further possible expansion of knowledge and skills in the field.
Prerequisites
Physical, mental and health prerequisites for completing lessons in the pool in full. Application of didactic knowledge for the preparation and management of a swimming lesson.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in direct teaching. Positively evaluated one pedagogical output with written preparation. Active participation in the verbal evaluation of all other outputs.
