Learning outcomes
The course is focused on improving skills and gaining deeper knowledge in the field of kinanthropology. The basis is acquaintance with the possibilities of construction of research projects, an overview of empirical and theoretical research methods, solving problems with the selection of research files, the method of formulating hypotheses and critical assessment of phenomena. Work with databases and other professional sources. The course is designed as a starting point for an adequate way of designing and solving a thesis. At the same time, there should be a presentation of selected problems of static data processing and their critical assessment in relation to the measured reality. The aim of the course is to convey extended knowledge about the role of research and especially the acquisition of a logical, scientific solution to the problem in the field of kinanthropology. Students will get acquainted with the basics of the construction of research surveys, with the standards for working with professional resources and the habits of formal editing of scientific reports. Great emphasis is placed on the ethics of research and research work. The course aims to shed light on research work carried out in the field of kinanthropology and the elaboration of a diploma thesis as a qualification thesis at a higher level.
By the end of the study-unit student will be able to: - understand the fundamental issues in research kinantropology, - characterize the structure of the basics of scientific work, - define the key characteristics of each part of the qualification work. - understand the use of basic research methods used in quantitative and qualitative research, - search for professional resources to the chosen topic and find such a resource that can be considered for his chosen theme for the key, - apply critical thinking when working with resources. He focuses on the key information and is familiar with the use of keywords. - Understand the main problems when using some of the research methods (especially the experiment, questionnaire, interview). - Detects deficiencies in formulated hypotheses can critically evaluate methods for selecting respondents or probands within pre-defined conditions for investigating phenomena in kinantropology. - use the acquired skills for possible future expansion of knowledge and skills in the subject. - Use professional resources in accordance with the ethical aspects of scientific work. - analyze examples of research and critically evaluate their difficulties, weaknesses or bottlenecks.
