Course content
Theoretical Seminars: 1. Physical abilities and their development in preschool children. Use of athletic kits and development aids selected motor skills and acquisition of athletic skills. Entering methodological outputs. Practical seminars: 2. Game and competitive activities using walking. 3-4. Gaming and competitive activities to improve reaction acceleration and selected coordination ability and running skills. 5-6. Gaming and competitive activities to improve rebound abilities and skills. 7-8. Gaming and competitive activities to improve throwing abilities and skills. 9-10. Game and competitive activities using the obstacle course. 11-13. Team competitions using selected athletic activities. 14. Awarding credits.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to teach students motoric activities, which come from Athletics. Individual seminars will focus on acquainting students with a range of fun athletic activities in the form of games and competitions that are suitable for inclusion in physical education in kindergarten. Games and exercises are designed to be usable in athletic preparations for children 5 - 7 years.
Student by the end of the study-unit will be able to: - Have fundamental information about development of motor abilities in athletics in specific age group - Choose and organize athletic activities realized by the form of games and competitions. - Manage organization of competitions for groups with usage of athletic games and competitions. - Use basic athletic terminology. - Have a right to ask for athletic training licence.
Prerequisites
They are athletic skills and knowledge, which are part of the curriculum in subjects Didactics of athletics.
