Course content
Introduction to the subject, requirements for credit, study literature, assignment of topics for pedagogical outputs. Principles of safety and hygiene, the influence of the aquatic environment on the human body. Topics 1; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14 will be lectured in contact teaching. Other topics will be the subject of independent study on the basis of study aids, compulsory and recommended literature and especially study aids Content of seminars: 1. Introduction to the subject, requirements for credit, study literature, assignment of topics for pedagogical outputs. 2. Principles of safety and hygiene, the influence of the aquatic environment on the human body. 3. The importance of swimming in human life, an overview of the development of swimming didactics. 4. General aspects of swimming lessons, stages of teaching, goals of individual stages, syllabi, plans of swimming schools, contracts. 5. Preparatory swimming training - phase and content of teaching. Basic swimming skills. 6. Swimming for infants and toddlers. 7. Methodology of pre-swimming training. 8. Organization and safety of swimming lessons, help and rescue. 9. Swimming games - meaning and use, aids. 10. Specifics of preparatory swimming training game for acquaintance with water. 11. Specifics of preparatory swimming training of the game for merging. 12. Specifics of preparatory swimming training for water orientation games. 13. Specifics of preparatory swimming training for breathing games. 14. Learning outcomes
Gradually, all topics from the theory and practice of swimming lessons in kindergarten are discussed. The student demonstrates the competence to lead students in partial sections of the curriculum. These are water games. The course deepens the preparation of students in the didactics of swimming, in the field of activities preceding their own training in swimming techniques. It also focuses on their preparation for work with children who do not have the necessary prerequisites for this initial training in the aquatic environment. The course motivates for more intensive and systematic cooperation with swimming schools in swimming courses for preschool children, for greater initiative in establishing this cooperation. Students will gain specific knowledge and skills to organize and safely lead preschool teaching, assistance and rescue in water.
The student is after completing the course - is able to organize and safely lead swimming lessons at kindergartens, - demonstrates theoretical and practical orientation in general aspects of swimming lessons, - is able to practically use knowledge in rescuing a drowning person, - can define key points in individual swimming cycles, - is able to use the acquired competencies for further possible expansion of knowledge and skills in the field.
Prerequisites
Physical, psychological and health requirements for graduation teaching in the pool in its entirety. Application of didactic knowledge for the preparation and conduct of swimming teaching unit.

Assessment methods and criteria

1. Attendance at seminars - 80%. 2. Positively evaluated one pedagogical output with written preparation. 3. Active participation in the verbal evaluation of all other outputs. During the student's exit, other students either form a model group or, if it is organizationally possible in preparation for pedagogical practice during university studies and in cooperation with the kindergarten in Ústí n. L., the group consists of a maximum of 10 children. For selected methodological sections, the student can appoint an assistant in advance. High-quality written preparation, organizationally flawless and safe management of pedagogical output in a predetermined topic is required. Emphasis is placed on the correct methodical guidance of the exercise, on the diagnosis and analysis of errors and the correct methodology for their elimination. The output is evaluated in the subsequent analysis by students and teachers.
