Course content
Physical activity in the prevention of lifestyle diseases. Effect of lifestyle diseases in the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory, metabolic disorders, obesity issue. Preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease etiology, physical activity in the prevention, respiratory tract disorders, post-exercise bronchospasm. Acute illness in physical education and sport. Possible solution, stretch, tear and torn muscles, tendons, mechanisms and causes of sports injuries. The most common sports injuries, problems of treatment of sports injuries, sudden death in sports, vagal death, and injury prevention. Prevention and treatment of chronic disease in foundations of physical education and sport. Indications of movement in newborns, infants, toddlers, preschool, school, adult, middle and old age, the issue of teenage girls of menstrual cycle and women's menopause. The issue of climate factors - exposure to cold, hypothermia, heat, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and failure, the organization of sporting events in those conditions. Fatigue in physical education and sport, physical activity in denatured environment. Physiological and Pathological fatigue, overtraining, overloading, founderation, withdrawal syndrome, the effect of factors the oxygen sulfur and nitrogen during physical activity, radioactive substances, heavy metals. Diagnosis in sports medicine - general principles. Basic and complex functional tests in sports medicine, chronometry-training unit. Evaluation of growth and development of athletes. Special investigative techniques including somatography, anthropometry, typology and evaluation of the biological age of an individual. Physical training medical examination. History, medical groups, types of inspections. Examination of the musculoskeletal system - the upper half of the body. Examination of the musculoskeletal system - the lower half of the body. Examination of the circulatory and respiratory system. Panel discussions and consultations.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the study-unit is to acquaint students with selected aspects of sports medicine in order to gain new knowledge in particular relationship of movement, sport and health. Emphasis is placed on explaining issues related to move, the development of the individual and influence of formation and solution of civilization diseases. At the same time, the student will learn the basics of clinical testing athletes, building evaluation and development of the body and testing capabilities in Sports Medicine.
By the end of the study-unit student will be able to explain the basic theoretical knowledge of sports medicine focused on the topics of: - Acute and chronic injuries in sports - Effects of movement on human development - Effects of movement on changes in organism involutional - Indication of movement in the prevention of lifestyle diseases - Clinical examination of athlete - Testing during the PE process
