Course content
Theoretical Seminars: 1. Motor skills and their development in children of junior age, athletic sets and tools. 2. Game activities in athletic preparatory. Practical tutorials: 3. Athletic activities for development of speed and coordination abilities. 4 Athletic activities for development of strength abilities. 5. Athletic activities for development of endurance abilities. 6. Usage of athletic sets for development of motor abilities and learning athletic skills. 7-8. Game athletic activities for improvement of speed and coordination abilities. 9-10. Game athletic activities for development of strength abilities. 11-12. Game athletic activities for improvement of endurance abilities. 12-13. Organization and evaluation of chosen group athletic competitions. 14. Credit giving.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to teach students motoric activities, which come from Athletics. The teaching will be differently located in order to show students many kinds of entertaining athletic activities in forms of games and competitions which can be used in P.E. on the first grade of basic school. The games are framed in a way appropriate for the general athletic and conditional training for the children age 6-11.
Student by the end of the study-unit will be able to: - Have fundamental information about development of motor abilities in athletics in specific age group - Choose and organize athletic activities realized by the form of games and competitions. - Manage organization of competitions for groups with usage of athletic games and competitions. - Use basic athletic terminology. - Have a right to ask for athletic training licence.
Prerequisites
They are athletic skills and knowledge, which are part of the curriculum in subjects Didactics of athletics.

Assessment methods and criteria

Participation on seminars. Realization of methodological output according to given topic. Analysis of methodological output in group of people. Work out and submission of methodological output in written or audio-visual form. (CD)
