Course content
Topics of lectures and self-study: 1. Characteristics of qualification work. Structure of research and non-research work. Descriptive work, historical. Preparation and organization of research. Stages of research. Quantitatively and qualitatively oriented research. 3. Determining the research problem. Information preparation of research. Work with sources, literary sources, professional journals, electronic sources, other sources. Characteristics of the research environment and determination of possibilities and conditions for the implementation of research within the qualification work. 4. Problem formulation, scientific questions, variables, hypotheses. Hypothesis construction, golden rules of hypotheses. 5. Selection of files - file types, proband, respondent. Basic characteristics of files. 6. Selected methods of quantitative research - observation. Measurement issues. Content analysis. Experimental research method. The problem of experiment. 7. Interview - advantages and disadvantages of the interview in comparison with the questionnaire survey method. Questionnaire. Questionnaire design, basic characteristics of this research method. Scaling. 8. Problems within data relevance, validity, reliability. 9. Qualitative type of research - characteristics and used methods of qualitative research. Case studies. 10. Ethical aspects of scientific work, ethical work with resources. Ethical aspects of working with research participants. Citation of authors. Formulation of the title and important chapters of the work, conclusions. Recommendations for writing a qualification thesis in the sense of construction and construction of selected parts of the work, especially the discussion, the importance of selected conclusions and recommendations. Notice of the interconnection of selected chapters and supplementation of the work with cited sources, documents, appendices, etc. 11 - 14. Thesis presentation and panel discussion on diploma thesis projects.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on improving skills and gaining knowledge to present the problems of kinanthropology. The basis is acquaintance with the possibilities of construction of research projects, an overview of empirical and theoretical research methods, solving problems with the selection of research files, how to formulate hypotheses and critical assessment of phenomena. Work with databases and other professional sources. The course is designed as a starting point for an adequate way of designing and solving a thesis and its presentation. Students will get acquainted with the basics of the construction of research surveys, with the standards for working with professional resources and the habits of formal editing of scientific reports. Great emphasis is placed on the ethics of research and research work. The course aims to illuminate the research work carried out in the field of kinanthropology and the elaboration of a diploma thesis as a qualification thesis.
By the end of the study-unit student will be able to: - understand the fundamental issues in research kinantropology, - characterize the structure of the basics of scientific work, - define the key characteristics of each part of the qualification work. - understand the use of basic research methods used in quantitative and qualitative research, - search for professional resources to the chosen topic and find such a resource that can be considered for his chosen theme for the key, - apply critical thinking when working with resources. He focuses on the key information and is familiar with the use of keywords. - Understand the main problems when using some of the research methods (especially the experiment, questionnaire, interview). - Detects deficiencies in formulated hypotheses can critically evaluate methods for selecting respondents or probands within pre-defined conditions for investigating phenomena in kinantropology. - use the acquired skills for possible future expansion of knowledge and skills in the subject. - Use professional resources in accordance with the ethical aspects of scientific work. - analyze examples of research and critically evaluate their difficulties, weaknesses or bottlenecks.
