Course content
Lecture topics: 1st consultation: Management factors (internal, external), management agents (resources, goals, values, principles), management subjects (teacher, director, founder, ČSI, minister), specifics of education (meaning, tools, ?). School systems (unified, diversified, mixed), harmonization according to ISCED, typology of schools (criteria), state administration and self-government in school management, legislation. School and classroom management, competence of managers (personality, typology of people, management styles, Leary's two-dimensional model, MBTI, ?) 2nd consultation: Management of the quality and development of the school (vision, goals, SWOT analysis, team roles, influence of the human factor, OECD international comparison, effectiveness and efficiency of the school's work) Communication, conflicts and ways to resolve them, school and classroom climate (errors, causes, solutions, ?), emotional and other intelligence, management culture Self-study: The following topics are intended for self-study (for the positions of pupil, teacher, manager): 1. Motivation and demotivation in school management: requirements, needs, interests 2. Time management in school practice: effective time management 3. Stress management in school practice: methods and techniques of strengthening resistance to stress 4. Classroom and school administration: purposeful setting and management

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to management issues with application to the school environment. It defines the specifics of school management and introduces its principles and particular manifestations in practice. The subject expands the students' professional teaching competences with managerial competences and provides space for the confrontation of individual management activities within the framework of pupil-teacher interaction. It enables familiarization with the activities of planning, projecting, decision-making, motivation, control, communication, management and evaluation, especially in the context of the purpose and main meaning of the educational process from the point of view of not only classroom but also school management. The course combines theoretical knowledge with the practical experience of students from the school environment and leads them to determine connections, search for the causes of individual impacts within the management process, and introduces the techniques of managing selected situations that can be caused both on the side of the controlling subject and on the side of the controlled subject.
Expertise: Student understands professional terminology and can apply it correctly when describing reality, is ready to critically analyze situations arising in the management process and is equipped with basic techniques of motivation, communication, time management and evaluation. Professional skills: Student is able to apply the acquired knowledge and approach the concept of class and school management in a creative way. General qualifications: The student is able to work actively within the individual management activities of planning, projecting, decision-making, motivation, control, communication, leadership, evaluation, etc.
