Lecture topics: 1. Management: the essence of management, the specifics of school management. 2. Current issues of educational policy in the Czech Republic, economization of education, causes, consequences. 3. School management, management and specifics of school management, class management. 4. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of management with application to the school environment. It defines the specifics of school management and introduces its principles and specific manifestations in practice. The course expands the professional teaching competencies of students with managerial competencies and gives space for confrontation of individual management activities on the object: pupil and pedagogue. It thus enables comparison for the activities of planning, design, decision-making, motivation, control, communication, leadership, evaluation not only for these two management objects but also in terms of purpose, meaning and value view of the management process. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience of students from the school environment and leads them to determine the context, finding the causes of individual manifestations of management and their impacts and acquaints them with techniques for managing selected situations that can be triggered by both the managing entity and the controlled entity.
Expertise: The student understands professional terminology and is able to apply it correctly in describing reality, is ready to critically analyze situations in the management process and is equipped with basic techniques of motivation, communication, time management and evaluation. Professional skills: The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge and creatively approach the concept of classroom and school management. Competences: The student is able to actively work in the individual activities of management planning, designing, decision making, motivation, control, communication, leadership, evaluation, etc.
