Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. Specifics of research in nursing: research strategy, research priorities for the 21st century. 2. Characteristics of qualitative and quatitative research 3. Qualitative approaches in nursing research: observation, grounded theories, content analysis. Case study. 4. Publishing and presenting results. 5. Introduction to data analysis: Gauss curve, population parameters, statistical hypotheses, significance level. 6. Selected samples of statistical tests: Paired and two-sample t-test (Excel - TTEST command). Selected samples of statistical tests: chi-square tests (Excel - CHITEST command).

Learning outcomes
The subject is inspired by the teaching of the subject "Methods of scientific work" with the principles of publishing and continues with selected possibilities of statistical analysis of the obtained information. The acquired professional knowledge and professional skills will be used by students during their bachelor thesis.
Expertise: Students know the principles of qualitative research and the specifics of research in their field. They are familiar with the principle of statistical analysis. Professional skills: Students are able to prepare a scientific project. They can perform selected statistical analyzes using a computer. General competences: The student understands the importance of scientific work for his / her field, is able to apply the principle of scientific work in his / her field adequately.
