Course content
Lecture topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Basic distribution of quality standards in the Czech healthcare sector. 2. Standardization of care abroad. 3. Criteria and measurement of the quality of healthcare services. 4. Evaluation of the quality and safety of inpatient care. 5. Economic aspects of standardization of care. 6. Quality indicators of medical and nursing care. 7. Internal and external quality audit, Documentation. 8. Nursing standards in a medical facility. 9. Satisfaction Tracking. Seminar topics: (2 hours/week) 1. Standards creation of basic rules. 2. Standards of diagnostic care. 3. Standards of patient care. 4. Standards of respect for patients' rights. 5. Standards of conditions of care provided. 6. Standards for the collection and processing of information. 7. Standards of anti-epidemic measures. 8. Determination of quality indicators. Nonconformance Management, Remedial Actions. 9. Internal audit - teams, team training, planning.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the basics of Czech healthcare standardization and compares them with the individual requirements of external and internal assessors. The subject explains individual terms that are related to the standardization of health services, the creation of medical and nursing care standards. In the practical part, it provides students with the opportunity to use theoretical knowledge, mainly in the creation of specific standards, setting indicators and planning audits.
Expertise: The student can describe individual quality management models, can explain the concept of accreditation and certification in healthcare, knows the legislative framework for the standardization of care, including economic aspects and the international context. Professional skills: The student is able to create care quality standards, can set and evaluate selected indicators, plan internal audits and evaluate audit reports in relation to the overall SŘJ, respects the legitimacy of documentation and the necessity of its management. The student can prepare and conduct training for internal auditors. General qualifications: The student can explain the essence of standardization in healthcare.
