Témata seminářů: 1. Specifics of care for women in senior age - identification of problem areas, role of prevention, inflammatory diseases, oncological diseases, incontinence, sexuality, SEA Exercise: Assessing the needs of women in senior age and proposing their solutions 2. Mental disorders in old age - geriatric depression, dementia, evaluation and assessment scales Exercise: Practical training in the application of some assessment scales, compilation of prevention activities to support the psychological distress of seniors 3. Geriatric syndromes - geriatric examination, identification of the most common geriatric syndromes and subsequent proposal of nursing care, dying and death - palliative care Exercise: care proposal for a patient with pressure ulcers, malnutrition, dehydration 4. Active seniors - prevention of immobilization and hypomobilization syndrome using appropriate physical activities, exercises to support the pelvic floor Exercise: compilation of suitable exercise activities for a senior woman 5. Active seniors - exercise in the pool - prevention of hypomobilization syndrome using suitable activities in the pool Exercise: conducting exercise lessons in swimming pools for seniors 6. Compensatory aids - impaired mobility, vision and hearing and how to solve them effectively when caring for an elderly woman Exercise: movement disorder - design of adequate compensatory aids - without the risk of harming the health of the nursing staff; hearing impairment - ten for communication with a deaf patient, sign language

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is designed as a theoretical-practical unit and is part of the complex of clinical nursing subjects. It introduces students to involutional changes, health status and the most common clinical conditions of women in older age. Emphasis is placed on the differences in the individual needs of elderly women in terms of providing nursing care.
Expertise: The student demonstrates expert knowledge in the field of geriatrics and gerontology, defines involutionary changes in the process of aging in the field of bio-psycho-socio-spiritual needs. It demonstrates professional knowledge (geriatrics and gerontology) in the indication area (internal medicine, traumatology, urology, orthopedics, psychiatry) with a focus on the aging process in women. The student is aware of the importance of ethical principles in the care of an aging population. Professional skills: The student is able to plan and implement nursing care for the elderly with practical application of the nursing process based on the acquired theoretical knowledge. General competences: The student is able to plan and support senior women's health on the basis of their professional knowledge and skills and to solve physical, mental and social problems related to old age.
