Course content
Lecture topics: Week 1: Defects of pregnancy duration, abortions, UPTT, partus praematurus, prolonged pregnancy, midwife care of a woman with a duration of pregnancy disturbance. 2. Week: Nursing care for a woman with early and late gestosis, preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, care for a woman with cardiovascular disease, heart disease, hypertension in pregnancy. Week 3: Nursing care for a woman with DM I, II GDM, about a woman with urological illness. 4. Week: Care of a woman with a fetal defect, insomnia, childbirth, care for a woman with multiple pregnancy. 5th week: Care of a midwife for a woman with a disorder of ejection forces, birth defects III., Care of a woman with vaginal extraction power, Forceps, UEC, episiotomy, care for birth injuries, caesarean section, PA assistance. 6. Week: Nursing care for a woman with a pathological puerperium, a woman with a mental disorder, care of a woman with a drug abuse.

Learning outcomes
The subject is the core discipline and it is theoretically - practical. It introduces the issues of risky and pathological states during pregnancy, the birth and six-week period. Seminars are focused on solving the problems which may arise in specific situations from the point of view of a birth assistant and on the nursing process arrangements. The special focus is put on the acute states in obstetrics, which are dangerous for a woman.
Field knowledge: Student analyzes the disease during pregnancy, including critical states. The student will describe the most common pathological conditions during pregnancy, including specific PA care The student characterizes the most common pathological conditions in the puerperium, including specific PA care Field skills: In practice, the student uses specialist obstetric terminology. The student proposes specific PA activities in the care of pregnant women, mothers and pups with a pathological condition. The student provides nursing care to women with a pathological condition in pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium.
