Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Birth paths, pathology of placenta, umbilical cord and amniotic membranes 2. Hormonal regulation of pregnancy, pathophysiology of pregnancy, failure of pregnancy Physiological changes in the body of a pregnant woman and diseases directly related to pregnancy 3. Save the fetus in the uterus at the end of pregnancy - lateral, oblique, KP position 4. Physiological, risky spontaneous delivery - definition of childbirth according to WHO, delivery period, medically administered childbirth 5. Birthing forces, disorders of the birth mechanism, disorders of labor duration 6. Obstetric operations - VEX, Forceps, SC; Physiological Risk and pathological puerperium, lactation Exercise Topics: 1. Care of a midwife in pregnancy during the first trimester of pregnancy 2. Care of a midwife in pregnancy in II. trimester of pregnancy Midwife Care of Pregnant in III. trimester of pregnancy 3. Begin birth and intake of a woman in the delivery room. 4. Learning outcomes
Selected chapters from obstetric care is a theoretical - practical subject, which provides the graduates with comprehensive knowledge of care for a woman both during physiological and pathological pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. Part of the course are practical seminars that are focused on solving specific situations from the point of view of midwives and the application of nursing process. Special attention is paid to acute conditions in obstetrics that threaten a woman's health and life. The aim of the course is complex professional preparation of midwife for clinical and private practice in midwifery.
Expertise: The student is able to describe the anatomical structures of the area of the small pelvis, can define changes of the woman's body in pregnancy. They can describe physiological delivery and the process of puerperium. Professional skills: The student is able to process a medical history, educate a pregnant woman to a suitable diet and provide specific care to a fruiting woman. General competences: The student is able to apply the acquired professional knowledge and professional skills to clinical practice.
