Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Week: Introduction to subject study, basic terminology (health, illness, progression, symptom, syndrome, subjective and objective symptoms of the disease). Week 2: Nursing anamnesis in gynecology and midwifery, procedure examination of a woman, physical examination in midwifery (view, listening, tapping, tapping), use of nursing scales in PA Week 3: Examination of the general state (consciousness, breathing, position, attitude, walking, constitution, nutrition status, skin). 4. Week: Physical examination of the head, neck and chest 5. Week: Physical examination of the abdomen and the excretory system 6. Week: Physical examination of the heart, vessels, limbs, skin 7. Week: Physical examination of the spine, lymph nodes, skin and reflexes 8. Week: Examination methods in gynecology - procedure for examination, distribution of examination methods in PA (laboratory, imaging, endoscopic, surgical) 9. Week: Laboratory examination in gynecology and obstetrics 10. Week: Imaging methods in gynecology and obstetrics, UZV, CT, MR, prebioptic methods 11. Week: Imaging methods in obstetrics (CTG, amnioscopy, aminocenthesis, cordocentesis) 12. Week: Physical examination of the newborn, evaluation of the newborn after delivery Seminar topics: 1. Week: Introduction to the study, basic terminology, procedure for examination of a woman. Week 2: Importance of a history of care for a woman in the nursing process. Gynecological and obstetric anamnesis. Physical examination in gynecology and obstetrics. Week 3: Examination of the general state, consciousness, breathing, attitudes, walking, constitution, skin, assessment and diagnosis of nursing problems. 4. Week: Examination of the head, neck and chest and diagnosis of possible nursing problems. 5. Week: Examination of the abdomen and the excretory system, diagnosis of nursing problems. 6. Week: Examination of heart, vessels, limbs, skin, diagnosis of nursing problems. 7. Week: Examination of the spine, lymph nodes, skin, reflexes, diagnostics of nursing problems. 8. Week: Examination methods in gynecology, PA assistance in performance, preparation of woman. 9. Week: Laboratory examination in gynecology and obstetrics, preparation of woman for examination. 10. Week: Imaging methods in gynecology and obstetrics - UZ, CT, MT, prebioptic methods, PA assistance, preparation of woman for performance. 11. Week: Imaging methods in obstetrics, CTG, amnioscopy, aminoconthesis, PA assistance, pregnancy preparation, physical examination in obstetrics, palpation 12. Week: Physical examination of the newborn, evaluation of the newborn, Apgar score

Learning outcomes
The subject is a part of a complex set of core subjects for birth assistants. It provides the knowledge and skills for receiving anamnesis data, examination and laboratory methods; application of nursing process in clinical fields, especially obstetrics, neonatology and gynaecology. It aims to develop the skill of performing a physical examination and the evaluation of the health status of a patient. It includes the skill to recognize and diagnose risks.
Field knowledge: Student enumerates examination methods used in gynecology and obstetrics The student will determine the physiological values of the basic haematological, hemocoagulation and biochemical examination. Student understands the essence of cardiotocographic examination and can interpret the CTG record, it knows the character of UZ. The student is able to evaluate the woman, fetus and newborn on the basis of physical examination and their overall condition. Field skills: The student will take and evaluate the anamnestic data of a pregnant woman. The student will make a physical assessment of the woman's and new-born somatic condition.

Requirements for the course: Attendance at seminars 80% Credit: 3 credit tests at least at the lower limit of 70% (when two tests are not met - writing a cross-sectional test at a lower limit of 75% in case of non-fulfillment - oral examination) Examination - Ústí exam, after the credit (The credit is awarded by the assistant professor Eva Šalanská, the exam is given by Blanka Vavřinková, MD)
